1888 Chromolithograph Hope Chest Glory Box 15th Century Furniture Bench Cabinet - Original Chromolithograph Overview

This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph of several large items of furniture which date back to 15th and 16th century Europe. Particularly of note is the hope chest, or glory box, in the upper right, used by young women to hold items in preparation for marriage. Below is an interior door, which often had knockers as a common courtesy to the occupants. Beside it is an elongated bench with a high back and a slight overhang. The item is the upper left is a small chest, highly decorated.
